Take your place on stage with the Edinburgh Festival Chorus

Join one of the world’s finest choruses at the open rehearsal on 24 October

The Edinburgh Festival Chorus is at the heart of the International Festival’s classical music programme – giving local singers the opportunity to learn exhilarating choral repertoire and perform with world class orchestras and conductors – and you could be part of it.

On Tuesday 24 October you’ll have a chance to join in for the opportunity to sing at the open rehearsal and experience what the Edinburgh Festival Chorus is all about. Just email our Chorus Manager, Jenny Searle, ( to book your free place.

Last August, the local singers were performing with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Filarmonica della Scala, Philarmonia Orchestra and Hallé, singing works including Berlioz's La damnation de Faust, Elgar's King Olaf and Verdi's Stabat mater and Te Deum

Amongst other works the 2018 International Festival programme will offer a rare opportunity to sing Mahler’s epic Eighth Symphony. Known to many as the ‘Symphony of a Thousand’ this masterpiece brings together an expanded orchestra, two choruses, a boys’ choir and eight soloists.

Take a look below for some first-hand insights to the Edinburgh Festival Chorus from its members and artists who worked with them.
